Nioshi Jackson, is known for his high-energy, deeply grooved, “in your face” jazz prowess. As an accomplished performer across Jazz, Funk, R&B and Country, his professional career includes playing with some of the industry’s finest musicians such as Bay Area legend Chester Thompson (Santana/Tower Of Power), Nashville based Rod McGaha, Jeff Coffin, Victor Wooten, The Wooten Brothers and Rahsaan Barber. His vast command of multiple genres has placed him in the company other fine performers such as Trisha Yearwood, Michael McDonald, Larry Carlton, Ricky Skaggs, and more recently established artists such as Laura Bell Bundy. His latest appearances include a stunningly dynamic performance with the idiomatic B3 master – Dr. Lonnie Smith, playing to a standing-room-only audience.
Jackson, having retired his “razor’s edge” contemporary jazz group The Nioshi Jackson Reason, adds a new iteration of invention and improvisation in the presentation of this trio.
With the powerhouse energy and creative spirit brought by Treadway and Halliday, a new turn is forged onto Nashville’s impressive jazz scene.
